Biography

Tracey Day McCormack is the Founder of McCormack Media Services and has been in the business of training both media buyers and seller alike for 20 years.

Tracey began her career as a Media Buyer for Vernon, Sassos & McGill in New York buying local markets for beer and retail clients.

After moving to Los Angeles, she continued her career as a Media Buyer at Asher/Gould where she worked in the categories of automotive, beer and retail.

Tracey McCormack  

Tracey began selling at Harrington, Richter and Parsons, Inc (a national television rep firm) in 1993 and was made a Sales Manager at the firm within 5 years.  She and her team represented the NBC Owned and Operated Television Stations in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago and also sold ad time for other major broadcasters such as:  Sinclair, Tribune, Sunbeam Television and Gannett.  Tracey hired and trained many salespeople in her tenure at hrp and many of them are high-ranking executives at major broadcast and cable networks today.

Tracey began a career in Media Training in 1992 at UCLA Extension with her first course, “Current Practices in Spot Television Buying.”    Over the course of 20 years, she added other courses including:  “Advanced Practices in Spot Television Buying,” “TV Time Sales” and “Media Sales in a Cross Platform World.”

Tracey left HRP to be an Account Manager at KNBC, Channel 4, the local NBC Affiliate in Los Angeles. 

Shortly thereafter, she was made the Sales Manager at the local Univision Affiliate, KMEX.  KMEX is the number one television station in Los Angeles in terms of ratings and is the flagship property of Univision

Communications.  Univision is broadcast in the Spanish-Language and working at Univision allowed Tracey to broaden her training base from General Market TV stations and agencies to include Hispanic TV Stations and Ad Agencies.  Tracey was responsible for managing 10 Senior Sales Executives and training all levels of salespeople in the art of New Business and Business Development.  While at KMEX, Tracey was a part of the launch of KFTR, a new, competitive station to KMEX in LA and nationally.

Tracey left the local television market to broaden her skills to National Cable Television.  For this task, she left KMEX and launched yet another new channel, Si TV (now called nuvoTV) and sold the start-up, Bi-Lingual, Hispanic network for 8 years leaving there as the VP of Sales.  Tracey was instrumental in every, major piece of business that was placed onto the network and in 8 years developed national client contacts in every major city and in every major category in advertising.  All categories – all markets – local and national – General Market and Hispanic.  Tracey has worked with all the clients directly and their respective ad agencies.

Today, Tracey McCormack has taken on a new challenge at the World’s First Social Television Network.   She is the SVP of Ad Sales of a new Cable Network called Youtoo Social TV.  The sale is the first, true, 360 integration of web, mobile, tablet and linear cable with true value in the social TV and social media arena.  Tracey continues to meet with the social media and digital media counter-parts at national clients and ad agencies to introduce them to this new media venture and establish 360, cross-platform opportunities for them.

Tracey is now going into her 20th year at UCLA and has some of the largest and most popular classes at UCLA today.  Her courses continue to break attendance records and operate at a 100% sell-out level.

McCormack Media Services was officially established in 1995 and has been hired by a number of media companies – buying, selling, direct response, local, national, broadcast, cable, radio rep firms and even international media firms have employed her services and consultation.
